Movies are great. But what makes enjoying movies extra special is when you’re able to lounge, have some food (in addition to just popcorn), and utterly forget the world around you. Sometimes, such a feeling is hard to accomplish in a movie theater, which is why so many people these days opt to Netflix and chill at home.
Things are about to change since Regal Entertainment Group has announced that they have added a luxury expansion to their Regal South Beach location. Starting next week on Friday, November 20, guests over the age of 21 (sorry, kiddies) will be able to wine, dine, and recline — but like seriously, with actual reclinable chairs.
The popular movie theater has remodeled five of its auditoriums and transformed them into inviting lounges where moviegoers can sit back on king-sized recliners — with footrests and all! — and have access to a full-service bar. The lounge menu promises to include a wide range of beers and wines as well as appetizers and entrees.
Wanna a little taste of what’s inside the new VIP area? The theater has a few king-sized recliners on display in their main lobby so guests can feel the comfort they’re missing out on and make those parents regret bringing their kids out to the movies.
“Regal is extremely excited to open our new lounge and VIP amenities at South Beach, offering a new level of comfort with King Size Recliners and the ability to reserve your seat for the show,” said Rob Del Moro, chief technical and theatre operations officer for Regal Entertainment Group in a press announcement. “Regal prides itself in offering the very best theatre experience for our guests. Now we have a wealth of premium selections for moviegoers at South Beach with the new VIP amenities, in addition to the already popular IMAX Experience option.”
Much like the way Cinebistro in Dolphin Mall works, guests who purchase the ticket for a film screening in one of the five theaters will get to select their seats for the show. And, since you’re getting all the added bonuses that come with this VIP experience, prepare to pay for a larger ticket. The angle here, is that guests are essentially invited to “wine, dine, and recline” both before and after the movie. “Stay and chat about the film in the relaxing atmosphere of our lounge,” says Christine White, marketing manager for Regal Entertainment Group.
The new amenities will be available starting next week, with the grand opening weekend set for Friday, November 20, through Sunday, November 22, with the first 100 guest receiving a commemorative martini glass. It sounds as if Regal South Beach’s new VIP experience will be as comfortable as enjoying movies at home — save the Netflix and chill for another night.
