Pop Redemption

Few celebs can brag they’ve hit rock bottom like Britney Spears. Her oh-so public breakdowns included a scalping, drunken matrimony, and an assault with an umbrella. We don’t think that car was really screaming, “Hit me, baby, one more time,” Brit. Yeah, her antics were better suited to some rock star wreck, but our pop princess pulled that shit off in style. And even better, she’s back like she left something. That’s right — she did: Her career. Naysayers thought her MTV VMA wins for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of The Year were some type of PR fluke, but one listen to her latest effort, Circus, and dammit you’ll be willing to forgive the former Mouseketeer for another mental trip if she keeps giving us music such as “Womanizer” and “If You Seek Amy.” When on “Leather and Lace” she coos, “French fingertips, red lips, bitch is dangerous,” you’ll believe why she is a definite threat — both in her personal life and onstage wearing something skimpy.

Love her or hate her, the ex-Mrs. Federline brings pop pleasure like no other. Watch her bring it this Saturday at 8 p.m. at the American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Oh, and the Pussycat Dolls are the opening act, so the girl power will be at an all-time high. Tickets start at $36 and are available at ticketmaster.com.
