New Theatre Moves to Roxy Performing Arts Center

In early September, the New Theatre announced that it had been bought by Henry and Peter Torres of Astor Development and was slated for demolition. The 25-year-old theater company had inhabited the space on Laguna Street in Coral Gables for 10 years.
currently caters primarily to children ages 3 to 17, offering dance,
drama, and voice classes. As part of the partnership, the Roxy Theatre
Group's advanced students will have the opportunity to audition and work
backstage on New Theatre shows, allowing them to gain Actors' Equity
The first New Theatre play to premiere at the Roxy PAC will be Chambers Stevens' Twain and Shaw Do Lunch, at 8 p.m. on Dec. 2. Steven Chambers, New Theatre literary manager and director of Twain and Shaw, said he was thrilled about the news.
