When youre staying at the Eden Roc or strolling along Lincoln Road, Morris Lapidus is probably the last person on your mind. Deborah Desilets will change that with her book Morris Lapidus: An Architecture of Joy. The author has compiled more than 50 years of the seminal architects work. Both heralded and reviled during his career, Lapidus first captured Desiletss imagination when she was a 5-year-old visiting her mom at work in a building he designed. Desilets went on to become an accomplished architect and designer herself, designing key pieces of furniture currently used at the Fontainebleau (also designed by Lapidus). Stop by Books & Books in Bal Harbour this Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for a free book presentation and book signing. Listen to Desilets wax poetic about architecture and the man who titled his autobiography Too Much Is Never Enough. Call 305-864-4241 or visit booksandbooks.com.
