For your average stoner, 420 is all about fun. But for activists on the front line of the fight to legalize medicinal marijuana, the herb that gets you high is not to be consumed frivolously. Although several states have recognized studies that prove that weed aint that bad for you compared to nicotine and alcohol, and that the relatively benign plant has been proven to diminish the suffering of chronically sick and otherwise incurable patients, the Feds keep on fighting (and spending lots of money on) a war they can never win. On Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wallflower Gallery, Flash and the gang will be hosting a presentation with Allen St. Pierre, national director of NORML. This will be part of the National 420 NORML tour.
Tonight at 7:00 the Reel Indie Films series at the gallery will screen three short films: Marijuana as Medicine, The Acid Test, and Busted: A Citizens Guide to Police Encounters. Admission is five dollars.
Thu., April 19; Wed., April 25, 7 p.m.
