Indie Film Pop Quiz Thursday
Pop quiz, hot shot. Two independent film events, one night (Thursday, April 9). What do you do?
Choices after the jump.
1. The premiere of local filmmaker Fro Rojas's new short film, Inventing Kin. His previous effort, Pencil Fighting: The Life and Times of Team Balderdash, was a very funny aesthetic cocktail one part Anderson's Bottle Rocket, one part Jeunet's Amelie, and one part Kanew's Revenge of the Nerds. Check out the trailer below for Inventing Kin, which plays at the Bill Cosford Cinema on the University of Miami campus at 8 p.m. Admission is free. See the New Times calendar for more info.

Admission is $22, every dollar of which gets matched by the Knight Foundation, so your participation directly contributes to more local film production. Gusman Center, downtown Miami, 7:30 p.m.
