Go Green

American comedy writer Robert Orben once said, “There’s so much pollution in the air now that if it weren’t for our lungs there’d be no place to put it all.” And if you’ve watched Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, you already know that Orben’s words are hitting close to home. So if you care about breathing in fresh air in the future, you might want to check out the bi-annual Green Living & Energy Education Expo today at the Stanley Switlik School, at mile marker 48.5, bayside, in Marathon.

The one-day expo will offer ideas and technologies to help people live a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Workshops are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The list of 50-minute classes includes talks on reducing your energy and water bills, clean boating, and healthy eating. Besides the information sessions, there will be environmentally friendly products for sale, cool demonstrations, an organic farmer’s market, and solar cars for the kiddies.
Sun., April 1, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
