Food For Thought and Science

Ever wonder how our eating habits affect the environment? We’re not talking about throwing gum wrappers on the floor or forgetting to recycle. It’s much deeper than that. At the second-annual Miami Eats, the Miami Science Museum invites “the community to share in the art and science of Miami’s food and fitness scene” and to discover how green and healthful choices make larger impacts. Guests can learn new, healthful recipes as well as experience various cooking demos and workshops with guest chefs in attendance. (Yes, there will also be some food tasting involved throughout the day.) Aside from learning how to grown their own food, attendees can “explore the physical and chemical process” related to cooking, eating, and burning off food. This Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science (3280 S. Miami Ave., Miami), join foodies and science lovers alike to experience the art and science behind how Miamians eat, grow, and cook their food.
