Creativity and a love for learning cool stuff is all kids need to become members of the Intel Computer Clubhouse. The after-school program is a casual drop-in center where kids between the ages of 10 and 18 can learn cutting-edge computer skills -- from digitized filmmaking to Web design and music production -- all at no cost. Bankrolled by computer giant Intel and facilitated by local nonprofit e-Equality, the international program offers underserved children the chance to learn the latest technological advances. The three Miami clubhouses aim to give kids the skills they will need in the future. But rather than teaching them mind-numbing data entry, the program encourages its young members' creativity.

A series of Clubhouse-kid-produced videos is currently airing four times a week on WLRN-TV. The videos, called Teens and Tech in the 21st Century, include clips of day trips and animation all mixed and edited by young minds.

The clubhouses open from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays. They are located at 181 NE 82nd St. in Little Haiti, 305-759-2542; 351 NW 5th St. in Overtown, 305-377-9922; and at 2700 Biscayne Blvd. in Edgewater, 786-924-4125 ext. 20.--By Juan Carlos Rodriguez

Good Thief!

Sticky-fingered kids act up in the forest

"The legend of Robin Hood is essential for all ages," says Arnold Bueso, director of the current production by the Miami Children's Theater. As Robin Hood robs from the rich and gives to the poor, adults can imagine he's shaking down some of those nasty corporate executives in the news lately. Kids can get excited about the staged sword fights, archery contests, and good-hearted adventures of the Merry Men (and hopefully retain a lesson about charity, not stealing) during this swashbuckling show starring 13-year-old Sarah Boynton as Robin Hood. See it at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Coral Gables Youth Center, 405 University Dr. Tickets cost $8. Call 305-223-2206. --By Judy Cantor
