Chi Under the Sun

When you found out those symbols tattooed onto your back really mean “sweet-and-sour sauce,” you were kinda mad. But when you learned those plastic chopsticks your favorite Chinese bistro gives you have been used before -- like more than twice -- you were heated at the entire country of China. We feel your pain, but when you experience the mind, body, and soul benefits of Sun Style Tai Chi, you’ll be appreciating Eastern culture and ordering shrimp fried rice before you know it.

Every Tuesday and Thursday from today until November 22, you’ll be able to partake in a form of exercise that emphasizes the natural healing and stress-reducing powers of the rising and setting sun. This ancient Chinese martial art uses slow-motion routines and internal power to promote health and longevity. To further aid in your synchronization with the universe, the classes take place at sunrise, from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., and at sunset, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The 10-week workout program costs $200, and you must pre-register by calling 305-960-4600. Visit
Tuesdays, Thursdays, 6:30-7:30 a.m. & 6:30-7:30 p.m. Starts: Sept. 18. Continues through Nov. 22, 2007
