The 90s were a transitional period. We were coming down from our 80s cocaine high and settling into a new world that was relatively peaceful and prosperous. President Bill Clintons most pressing problem was keeping his wandering eye for full-figured interns in check. The nations biggest crisis was the supply of AOL phone numbers for our 56k modems to call. That and our mom wouldnt stop picking up the phone, causing us to disconnect and hear the dreaded Goodbye.
Compared to the post-9/11 world we live in, the 90s were awesome, and helping us relive that great decade are Sweat Records and the Vagabond. Its time to sport our favorite kinderwhore or Contempo Casuals attire, because the two indie forces are hosting 90s Homecoming. There is no preparty matchup between football rivals, but there will be music provided by the citys purveyors of cool. Heres hoping the playlist includes 90s grunge, bubblegum pop, and ska. The party starts Sunday.
