The illustrious Fashion's Night Out was created by the original devil wearing Prada, Anna Wintour. The Editrix-in-Chief, who sports the best bob in the business, knows exactly how to ease a shopping lull during a recession: Add sales incentives with celebrity sightings, and stir in a little booze. Keep adding booze.

Sponsored by the fashion bible, Vogue, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the event began last year to encourage consumers to shop and support the fashion industry. This year's Fashion's Night Out takes place on September 10 and will be a who's who of elite designers, fashion editors, musicians, and movie stars.

But now it's also a global celebration of fashion, having expanded beyond the Big Apple to 16 different countries around the world. And you know Miami wants a piece of that fashion pie, too. So for the first time ever, Miami will have its very own Fashion's Night Out.

Vogue Latin America is a key sponsor of Miami's Design District's

Fashion's Night Out, with stores like Marni, Marimekko, and

FriendsWithYou among the night's participants. There'll be loads of

creative ways to get you to shop, including Maybelline pop-up studios

with makeup stations and "artists" on-hand to offer makeovers and talk

trends. There'll also be live music, in-store

fashion presentations, and food by neighbors Fratelli Lyon, Maitardi, Q

American Barbecue, and Sra. Martinez. Miami's Fashion's Night Out will take place on September 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. Visit miamidesigndistrict.net/fno/.

But the festivities leak out beyond the Design District. Also on September 10th, Dadeland's Saks

Fifth Avenue will have a Moet & Chandon reception, Morton's hors d'oeuvres, treats from the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental,

and a DJ battle. As if that weren't enough, you can preview Monique

Lhuillier gowns at a trunk show and meet the woman behind Glamour para

Llevar, Margarita Zingg, at her book signing. It'll all take place from

6 to 9 p.m. RSVP at [email protected] or call 305-662-855, x262.
