It was just another stressed-out, guilt-ridden day for Cathy. Her boss, Mr. Pinkley, expected her to work overtime. She just couldn’t seem to find Mr. Right. The cats, her only companions, had become increasingly distant. And when she stepped on the scale this morning, she couldn’t believe it: Even after all of that Jazzercise, she had gained five pounds!
It was enough to make a woman cry, “Ack!”
Then she received a call from her charming, handsome co-worker, who happened to volunteer at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in his free time. He explained he wanted to attend the garden’s International Chocolate Festival Friday but didn’t have a date — which was a shame, because the event would have everything a chocolate lover dreams of: chef demonstrations, talks on chocolate’s history and production, and even a “Chocowalk” trail explaining the life cycle of the cacao plant. And best of all, he said, attendees would get to indulge in samples from all kinds of chocolatiers. Would Cathy accompany him to the festival?
Clearly, this was Mr. Right. Now she just had to decide which of her hundreds of pairs of shoes to wear.
