Queen Elizabeth isn’t the only person who can experience the glory that is a special tea service. Make your mother feel like royalty with Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s Mother’s Day Tea. Dress in your finest (including your best fascinator if you really want to feel like a member of the royal family) and join other mothers and their loved ones Sunday on the veranda and in the ballroom of the Jean Ellen DuPont Shehan Visitor Center at 3 p.m. The tea will include savory appetizers, scones, and desserts served by garden volunteers who will be happy to make your Mother’s Day a memorable one. Guests will also be treated to tunes by guitarist Rob Friedman.
If the tea service isn’t enough, you can give your mother a spectacular gift by adopting a bird, orchid, or butterfly in her name. For another gift that keeps on giving, you can dedicate a brick, bench, or tree in her honor. At Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Rd., Coral Gables), your Mom will feel like the queen of the world.
The cost for the event is $37 for nonmembers, $27 garden members, and $17 for children 12 and younger. To RSVP, call 305-663-8059. Visit fairchildgarden.org.
