Welcome to the Good Life

Calling all art snobs, hipsters, foodies, and socialites! The Holy Trinity of food, art, and drink will converge on Locust Projects’ annual Spring Fling: La Dolce Vita, celebrating more than 15 years of providing support to local, national, and international contemporary visual artists. Embracing cutting-edge exhibitions and innovative installations, Locust Projects gives artists “the freedom to experiment with new ideas and methods without the limitations of conventional exhibition spaces.” To do so, these fine people don’t put on just any ol’ fundraiser. There’s no need for ball gowns and stuffy suits — simply dancing shoes and the ability to hang at tremenda pachanga. With a bangin’ silent art auction featuring work from the likes of Daniel Arsham, Justin Beal, and Evan Nesbit; foodie delights courtesy of Harry’s Pizzeria, Miami Beach’s Shake Shack, the Federal Food Drink & Provisions, Misha’s Cupcakes, and others; plus a silent luxury auction that includes a Neiman Marcus shopping spree and handbags by Tod’s and Ralph Lauren, this is one social event you definitely want on your calendar. Local legend DJ Le Spam will be on deck with the funkadelic tunes, while a silent wine auction will have boozehounds and aficionados more than occupied. Put the “fun” in “fundraiser” this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the 1111 Lincoln Rd. parking garage (seventh floor, Miami Beach). Tickets cost $150 per person or $125 for Locust Projects members. Visit locustprojects.org or call 305-576-8570.
