There are a few routes you could take to celebrate Easter. You could, for instance, take the introvert highway and gorge on your chocolate stash while Jesus of Nazareth plays on repeat. However, if you want to get out of the house and take in springtime, Miami has several fun events for both kids and adults, including like lots and lots of brunch. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden welcomes families to its Easter Sunday Brunch Buffet. From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Fairchild and Creative Tastes Catering and Events Production Company will offer made-to-order omelets, fresh-baked croissants, and a fully stocked sweets station. The buffet will feature a smoked salmon and bagel bar, as well as a savory station, with menu items including garlic mint marinated lamb and roast beef, authentic paella, and vegetarian items. Champagne, mimosas, and juice are some of the beverages to be served. The buffet costs $47 per adult, half-price for children 5 to 12, and free for kids under 5. For reservations and to receive a confirmation number, call 305-256-8399. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is located at 10901 Old Cutler Rd. in Coral Gables. What’s more Miami than kicking off Easter on a yacht? South Beach Lady Charters presents the 2014 Easter Brunch Cruise, where voyagers will enjoy an all-inclusive seafood brunch and do the bunny hop while a DJ spins Top 40 hits. The package includes a bloody mary or mimosa, carving stations, pastries, and an Easter-themed candy station. The yacht boards from 11 a.m. to noon Sunday and sails from noon to 3 p.m. out of Bayfront Park (301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami). Cost is $59.99 for adults and $39.99 for children 12 and younger. Call 305-609-5185. Miami staple Jungle Island is packed with Easter weekend fun for the family. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, the annual Easter Eggstravaganza will feature egg hunts with more than 50,000 eggs filled with candy, toys, and prizes. Kids can enjoy pie-eating contests, arts and crafts stations, animal encounters, bounce houses, and photos with the Easter Bunny. Admission to Jungle Island (1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami) and the Easter Eggstravaganza costs $7 for children with a paying adult. Adult admission costs $34.95 plus tax. A minimum $2 donation for the International Coach Federation is encouraged. Jungle Island’s Easter brunch, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature roasted Virginia ham and petite filet mignon with fresh salads, a “Little Hoppers” kids’ menu, and desserts such as chocolate crunch cake and key lime cheesecake. Cost is $50 for adults and $37 for children ages 3 to 10. Special brunch prices apply to annual pass-holders. Prices include park admission, brunch, and tax.
