Pet owners and animal lovers alike can stroll for a cause at the 15th-annual Walk for the Animals, supporting the Humane Society of Greater Miami. The event, presented by Pet Supermarket, will take place Saturday at Bayfront Park (301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami).
Apart from the one-mile walk, there will be contests such as a pet/person look-alike contest, best pet-kisser contest, and a raffle. An adoption arena, a top fundraisers awards ceremony, product samples, games, music, prizes, and food — including a special bakery tent — will also be onsite.
Walkers can register as individuals without fundraising or as individuals intent on raising money for the nonprofit organization. Families and “packs” (a group of two or more people working together to raise money for the organization) can also register to walk. The registration fee for individuals is $50; the fee for families is $100. Registrants will receive a Walk for the Animals T-shirt, goodie bag, and doggie bandanna. Each member of a pack must raise a minimum of $50 to receive a Walk for the Animals T-shirt, water bottle, and other cool swag.
Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. The walk begins at 10. Visit walkfortheanimalsmiami.com.
