I think that some black men have an issue with Black women in general dating outside their culture, and BW have an issue with BM because they tend to abandon their families. The respect is lost. They have worked over time trying to make black women feel less than. BM seem to be the only race of men that never stand up for their own women which is quite disturbing as a white women looking in.
I think the IR relationships that Olivia Pope has on scandal is for me just an after thought. When I watch scandal I really don't focus on racial things. I focus on the characters roles. I don't think that black men should hold Kerry or any other black woman to a standard that they don't hold for white women. It's not fair to ask a bw to be perfect, yet when bm are with white women they bypass their faults and try to make relationships work.
I have many friends from many different cultures and have noticed that bm don't treat bw well. I think that's the reason why some bw have become open to dating wm now. I think that for most black women who date white men seriously, already had the attraction there for wm for years. You can't help who you fall for, and who you are attracted to. I don't think that black men should be so bitter. You had your chance to treat your women of your race right, but you failed. So, if a white man can make her happy then be happy for her. Be happy that she's loved. Be happy that her wm loves her enough to love the children the black men abandoned her with.
I think that scandal is an awesome show. I love the openness of the many dynamics that come into play here, and the topics that are being explored without fear. There is this wonderful thing seeing a bw and wm together. Very erotic if the two are into it. I think that we all need to be a little more accepting to each other, and push the hate to the side.
