Kickball isn’t just a kids’ sport anymore. WAKA Kickball & Social Sports has helped to make the playground pastime the fastest-growing community sport in the United States. This Sunday, you can watch the grown-up version of this elementary school classic and help a good cause with the South Beach chapter’s Pick Up KickBall Games and Charity Event. WAKA FL SoBe — Miami Beach’s league created to promote equality and awareness — has partnered with Palace Bar and SAVE Dade, a local organization that works to protect the LGBT community against discrimination. SAVE Dade will be at the games to provide information about the organization and how people can volunteer. A toy drive will also be on the premises to benefit the UM Child Protection team and Kristi House. The games will begin at noon and last until 4 p.m. at Flamingo Park (11th Street and Jefferson Avenue in South Beach). The games are free for everyone, and Palace Bar will entertain the crowd and provide refreshments, as well as host the official afterparty. Newly signed kickball players can enjoy food and drink specials from Palace Bar plus entertainment from the Sunday Diva Drag Queen show.
