Demand is high for Saturday’s Brazil vs. Honduras soccer match at Sun Life Stadium (2269 SW 199th St., Miami Gardens). How high is it? So high, in fact, that the stadium has opened its upper levels.
The ramped-up excitement is warranted. This will be the first time Brazil has played in Miami in more than ten years (the last match being part of the 2003 Gold Cup). Miami’s many Brazil fans are starved to see their team in town and are thrilled that the wait is over.
Honduras fans haven’t had to wait as long to see their team in Miami, but it’s still been a while. The last time Honduras played in Miami was this past July 12, when they beat El Salvador during a 2013 Gold Cup match. Another reason for Honduras fans to celebrate: Honduras has qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, making it the third time in the country’s history that Honduras has qualified. Brazil has also qualified for the World Cup, so this upcoming match is a must-see.
