While the rest of the country wallows in the dregs of winter, Miami lingers in a perpetually sunny summer day. And when every day is a beach day, you can get down to chilled-out island-tinged jams any damn time. That’s the sound Miami local and national upstart Cris Cab brings to the stage. The barely legal protégé of music mogul Pharrell has caught a lot of attention for his playful mix of reggae, pop, hip-hop, and rock, and you can catch some of his good vibes when he brings his act back to the crowds of his hometown. Let your hair down and your hips sway like it’s still July this Friday at the Tina Hills Pavilion at Bayfront Park (301 Biscayne Blvd., Miami). This music was made with sunshine in mind, and it’s the perfect way to celebrate South Florida’s all-around gorgeousness. Cab will be joined onstage by DJ Irie and Marquese Scott, and the best part is that tickets are free. It’s all part of the monthly Heineken DWNTWN Miami Concert Series, featuring music, art, and local vendors. So now you have no excuse to miss out.
