South Beach food truck fetishists, rejoice! After getting approval in May, the Miami Beach Food Truck and Music Fest will finally roll out to the North Shore Park Bandshell (7275 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) this week. The monthly event will feature food trucks and live music with a Latin flavor, in keeping with the spirit of the neighborhood. The first fest will take place Wednesday from 5 to 10 p.m., with October 17 and November 14 marked as additional dates so far. Miami Beach’s acting assistant city manager, Max Sklar, has worked diligently on the project and is excited about the monthly event. “It is a great neighborhood, and we’re looking forward to having people come and enjoy good food, good music, and the beautiful beach, and also hoping to entice neighboring residents to come and discover the charm of North Beach.” Latin Burger and Taco’s Jim Heins, who represented food truck owners at several city commission meetings before receiving final approval, is pleased to finally be able to serve Miami Beach. “We’re looking forward to introducing our trucks to families in North Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods. The City of Miami Beach has been great to work with, and we’re all excited about these events.” The first fest will feature the salsa sounds of the nine-piece band Marlow Rosado y La Riqueña and about a dozen food trucks, including Latin Burger and Taco, Ms. Cheezious, Dim Ssäm à Gogo, GastroPod, Health Nut on Wheels, Dolci Peccati Gelato, Sugar Yummy Mama, the Fish Box, Moty’s Grill, Mangia Mia, and Bocaditos.
