Condoleezza Rice Is an Uncle Tom

During her speech at the Republican National Convention last week, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said her parents made her believe a little black girl from Jim Crow-era Birmingham could grow up to be president of the United States. That might have been a statement of her ambition.

What she forgot to mention is she is a sellout.

In fact, Rice joins U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio on the list of prominent Uncle Toms shucking and jiving about the so-called great American values of the Republican Party. In exchange for consideration as a presidential candidate in 2016 or 2020, they play the role of token minority GOP celebs. Heck, for her tokenism, Rice snagged one of the first female memberships at the previously all-men's Augusta National Golf Club.

Rice, who served under George W. Bush, is one of those black people who want to be the only African-American partner in a big law firm or on a big corporation's board of directors. These bourgies climb the ladder by never complaining about racist comments in the workplace. Their bosses test them by making some racially insensitive jokes about people in the hood being lazy and depending on government money. If the black employee doesn't get offended, he's an official member of the Whitey Club.

You'll never hear Rice tell the media or her party members that she was offended by the delegate who was kicked out of the convention because she threw peanuts at a black CNN employee and said, "This is how we feed the animals." And you'll never hear Rubio publicly condemn the GOP's anti-immigrant laws in Arizona and Alabama that target Mexicans looking to escape a violent, drug-fueled civil war in their country.

But trotting out tokens won't fool minority voters into casting their ballots for the Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan ticket. A recent NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows Romney has zero support among African-Americans. A USA Today/Gallup poll has Obama leading 66 percent to 25 percent among Hispanic voters. We know the Tea Party is the Ku Klux Klan in disguise.

This stuff has to stop. Condoleeza is by far smarter than this guy is or would be if he were to live 1000 years. freedom is just that freedom to associate with who you want to. she chooses as she does because thats hers to do. i think luke is the true uncle tom here, what an idiot. I'm cutting myself off from this drivel, i cant stand this stupidity.

I guess any independent-minded African American who doesn't sit in the race-hustling choir of Luther Campbell is a treasonous fraud. Instead of celebrating her accomplishments, he'd rather condemn her for brown nosing "whitey". Unbelievable.  Many liberals who run large cities preside over African American communities with atrocious schools, rampant crime, and perpetual poverty, and yet somehow if blacks have even the gaul to question the system, or not tow the party line, they're deemed Uncle Tom's. It's great leadership, like the hackery expressed in the article, that minorities should turn to!

Your concepts are out dated; I heard them tossed around when I was a kid. Based on your letter here you are no better than the jerks who separated black from whites back in the day. Why can't you just accept that people are not all the same, it's not a bad thing. Why must everyone be brainwashed and expected to think like you? It shouldn't matter what color make or model they are.

You strike me as one of those people who claim to be fighting for freedom of choice yet you deny that freedom to others calling them names in an attempt to intimidate and control. It's rather immature and only works on uneducated people. This is why many cultures do not educate women, and it appears to be the tactic you are using. The more advanced of the human race is looking at you with disgust and a little pity right now. It seems that some people will never be able to see past the brainwashing that they received in their youth to see that people no longer are told to ride in the back of the bus; they are encouraged to drive it. While you may have fooled yourself into thinking that you are driving, you are doing is telling others to sit in the back of the bus. Do you see the pattern yet? No progress will ever be made at this pace.

Just remember that pro choice = freedom of choice, you cannot control one without denying the others.

Remember when reporting the news was reporting researched facts? It's seems all too often "journalists" use their columns as a platform to spew forth their opinions. Report facts rather than making your subjective conclusions your version of a fact. I could be wrong, but I'm hearing: if any black person betters their livelihood & happens to be in a white dominant environment they are somehow betraying their roots, their secret values,& cow towing to the bad "whitey".. How difficult it must be to not only become educated, but to do so while being ostracized & scorned by one's own race. Power to any minority bettering their life.. Anyone calling the Tea Party the KKK is ignorant. Where are the reports of violence, hangings, beatings, and anti-black behavior??? A: there is none. Such a hateful, negative statement that can only lead to keeping the races divided within the weak minded.

Luke may put it out there unfiltered, but he's not necessarily wrong.  Both Rubio and Rice refuse to answer questions about issues that are important to the voter base they bring in.  They both flaunt their cultural identity, but refuse to discuss many important issues that affect individuals from similar backgrounds.  The only reason either were chosen to speak at the RNC, was because of their ethnic heritage and because of their success.  Was their success due to making concessions during their careers?  I'm sure they've made many.  Do they have potential to make a bigger difference in our country in  the future because of these concessions?  Absolutely, but only time will tell.

Both parties pander to the masses and play the race card constantly though.  Don't get me wrong the RNC was a little more blatant about it (there were more black speakers, than in the crowd), but the DNC also pulled out speakers to convince specific groups of americans to vote for Obama too.  Julian Castro is an impressive man, but they made sure to highlight his Latino heritage throughout the night.  Kamal Harris is a response to the RNC use of Condi Rice and they made sure to highlight that she's part indian too.  They even invited Barney Frank and Debbie Wasserman Shultz to speak so they could keep their position with the gay and jewish communities, but at least they are politicians and highly involved members of the party.

What many of you fail to realize is that politics is all about advertising.  Why was Luke popular back in the day?  Because he did the same thing!  He used his background and heritage to sell music to black youths across the country and when hip-hop and black culture caught on in the white communities, he turned up the volume so they would buy his albums too.  It's marketing and the best way to market something to someone is through their cultural identity or lack of.  Both parties want your vote and they do/say whatever they need to in order to get it.

BTW - For those of you delusional enough to say that everyone is equal or racism is dead, just look at tw1-jk's comment.  Racist.  Or eclomb's automatic reference to "the circle of violence, broken family and lack of will to study...in most black communities".  Racist.  Just because our president's father was black, doesn't mean that racism is dead.  If anything, I think his election has polarized our country even more and helped reveal how racist White America really is.

I thought this was some kind of a joke at first. Since when being a smart, successful person a bad thing. This is racism at it's most shameful and harmful. I can't believe it was even published and Yahoo picked it up. If a white person wrote this kind of vitrolic article there would be a huge outrage. No wonder there continues to be a racial gap in this country when ppl. of any race writes this kind of hate speech.

This is the comments of the most racist person I ever heard. The last time I check Obama is BLACK and THE PRESIDENT OF USA, How can you call this country racist? Does he was vote president by the african american ONLY ? Stop crying racism for every single black that do not make it in this country. If you continue the cicle of violence, broken family and lack of will to study and make a better live for yourself and your family that is rampant in most black communities you will continue to have the same results.

There is lot of black people who are succefull , are all of them Uncle Tom ? You are more racist than all those people you are calling out. Black people like you are voting for Obama because his color , not  because he is a good president , he did nothing for black people. Your vote is based on racism and nothing else.I know a lot of black people that will not vote for Obama.

We do not want Obama because he is a Socialist who want to destroy this country. I can not care least the color of his skin, he could be green, yellow , pink or white. He is a Socialist and socialism is proven to be a disaster in every place has being try. It is the worst and most destructive scenario for any country. It is without any doubt the most evil social system ever try in human history.

It is people like Mr Luther Campbel who keep alive hate and resentment for what was done to the Black community in this country long time ago. Today every American has the same rights and we are all treated equally, prove is our Black president.

Mr Campbel should be proud of the accomplishments of other fellow Americans regardless of race instead of criticizing and diminishing them.

Grow up Mr Campbel!
