If there were a Dutch version of Swedish House Mafia, it would be Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano. That's quite a lofty statement, but when it comes from SHM's Axwell after he played with the duo in Ibiza, you take notice.
It must feel fantastic to be these guys. Just four years ago, they were slaving away in crappy retail jobs. Fast-forward to today, and they boast a resumé that includes Ultra Music Festival sets, remixes for Kaskade and Ferry Corsten, and support from house icons such as Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, and David Guetta.
Their original productions set them apart from the crowd. Pete Tong made their take on "Lethal Industry" his Essential Selection twice on his influential BBC Radio show. Their minimal jam "Tribeca" has been a hit since its release, and Steve Angello loved "Maruzza" so much he grabbed it up for release on his label, Size Records.
Check out the hype for yourself. This Thursday, the boys from Holland will hit the booth under the big lights of LIV (4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach). Doors open at 10:30 p.m., and tickets cost $50. Call 305-674-4680 or visit livnightclub.com.
