If you’ve dreamed of an event in Miami that would let you sample wines, enjoy a chair massage, and pet a pony while listening to Colombian fusion music, get thee to the Taste of Brickell Food & Wine Festival(1201 Brickell Bay Dr., Miami). The fest, which runs from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, will feature live world music, food, and wines from around the world. Unlike some high-priced shindigs, $5 gets you into the festival (kids 12 and under and seniors are free); then pay as you go for wines and food from 36 local restaurants, including Mare Nostrum, Chop House, Edge, and Atrio. Wines by the glass cost about $8, and food samples start at $1. All-you-can-drink beer and wine wristbands are available for $35, or you can go VIP for $100 each day, which gets you unlimited drinks, access to a special tent, and ten food tickets. And what would a festival be without massages and ponies? Exhale Spa will offer free chair massages, and Jesse Williams Ranch will provide ponies, flamingos, parrots, and other cuddly creatures at a special petting zoo. Food demos by local chefs, a kids’ play area, and a car show ensure that the whole family has something to do after everyone has had their fill of food.
