More About

Ever notice how the Irish are the one ethnic group that embraces all the stereotypes about themselves? Ask any die-hard from the Emerald Isle, and he'll tell you that he and his 26 brothers and sisters are a bunch of jolly drunks fueled by Guinness and Jameson, all seeking that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. And he'll be damn proud of it, too.

You don't buy into that nonsense, of course. But that doesn't mean you can't celebrate it on St. Patrick's Day. So head to the St. Patrick's Day Festival at Fado (500 S. Miami Ave., Miami), starting bright and early at 8 a.m. It's a free outdoor block party celebrating all things Irish with live music and Irish dancing. Inside the pub, you can watch Ireland in the Six Nations rugby tournament while indulging in all-you-can-eat pancakes and plenty of “Vitamin G,” aka Guinness. If you can keep drinking all the way until the 11 p.m. closing time, you're a true Irishman. (Hey, some stereotypes die hard.) Call 786-924-0792 or visit fadoirishpub.com/miami.
