It was a cold January night — North Florida cold. "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" lingered in the background as we played connect the dots on Orion's Belt using a laser pointer we'd found earlier in the day at a Goodwill store. But somewhere between Alnitak and Mintaka, shit got really weird. The stars began pulsating, periodically releasing tiny bits of space glitter. The universe, we thought, was falling out of alignment, a result of our reckless laser-pointing.

Of course, that wasn't the case — just our wild imagination at the peak of our magic-mushrooms trip. And we're prepping for a relapse at Laser Fest 2012 at the Miami Science Museum.

From 8 p.m. to midnight, some of the greatest music ever recorded will provide the soundtrack for a night of "laser lights, stars, and more" inside the museum's killer planetarium. A family-friendly show kicks off each night, followed by deep tracks from Pink Floyd's musical arsenal, Bob Marley's body of work, the Beatles, Beastie Boys, Zeppelin, and Radiohead.
