Peas, Love, and Food Trucks

Calling all flour children (pun intended). Get out the tie-dye and love beads for Short Order’s Foodstock: One Night of Peas and Musicthis Saturday at 6 p.m. at 2100 NW Second Ave. in Miami. Indulge in delights from 30 food trucks and update your hippie-dippy wardrobe with the help of vintage clothing and crafts vendors. Food trucks will include favorites such as Latin Burger and Taco, Jefe’s Original Fish Taco and Burger, Manila Rice, and Dim Ssäm à Gogo, known for its Korean-inspired Asian-fusion cuisine. At 8 p.m., get your groove on to live music courtesy of Nil Lara and former Manchild lead singer Demetrius Brown. Live DJs, art exhibitions, and a cash bar round out the festivities. Foodstock coincides with Wynwood’s Second Saturday Art Walk, so stroll through some galleries in search of cheap wine in a plastic cup and make a night of it. Admission to Foodstock is free, but because many food trucks take only the green stuff (no, not pot), bring cash. Find the Foodstock Miami page on Facebook.
Sat., Nov. 12, 6 p.m., 2011
