As Jewish as They Wanna Be

It’s no surprise that Mansion booked Samantha Ronson for its weekly We Rock Hip Hop party. Because it’s all in the family when she takes over the decks at this Opium Group locale. Not only is Ronson a sibling to Mark (famous musician and producer) and Charlotte (famous designer), but also she counts Roman Jones, co-owner of the Opium empire, as a stepbrother. You might know Jones because a bust of his likeness adorns Louis at the Gansevoort, and he had his mug silkscreened onto panties and toilet paper handed out at Opium venues. Or perhaps you recognize him from his courtside appearances at Heat games, made infamous by his questionably fashionable Uggs. But maybe Jones will sit the night out, letting the spotlight shine on Ronson and DJ Affect, who get top billing Friday night as 2 Live Jews. Will they make Uncle Luke proud? Let’s hope. Or perhaps this could be an homage to the ’90s comedy hip-hop duo of the same name that crafted songs like “Oy! It’s So Humid” and “Shake Your Tuchas.” Tickets cost $15, and tables start at $850 — just make sure the vodka is kosher.
