For a dive as old as Tobacco Road, the ’80s probably feel like they were just a year or two ago. But it’s been more than three decades, dammit! Not that you’d know it during the fourth annual ’80s Flashback Festival this Friday. More than 20 bands will be rockin’ the likes of Lionel Richie’s “Hello,” Flock of Seagulls’ “I Ran,” and Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me.” Part of every band’s set list must include at least two ’80s songs, and several of the scheduled bands will play all ’80s covers. Among the local acts scheduled to perform are Phoenix/Nebulin and Loaded Guns. The show will feature four stages, including a tent added at the last minute because more bands came calling. Don’t forget to wear your zipper jacket, Z. Cavariccis, and “Sunglasses at Night” — heck, maybe even sport a Flock of Seagulls do — and you might win a cool c-note in the best-dressed contest.
