Ven Bailalo!

Miami is a hell of a place for lovers of Latin music. The Billboard Latin Music Awards just passed, and two months before that, there was Premio Lo Nuestro. In another two months, Premio Juventud comes along. But even amid all of those awards shows, local music festivals and radio events draw hordes of hip-hoppers, salseros, merengueros, and bachateros to the 305. Anyone who has ever driven on the Palmetto Expressway has no doubt noticed that Colombian festivals seem to go down year-round. And now for the latest offering for your Latin-music-loving palate: Calienta Miami Festival Music Bash. Sure, the name is a little convoluted. But the lineup is Latin urban gold. You’ll get a full dance card at the James L. Knight Center, including Prince Wylkins, La Persecución, and NyCe, as well as renowned reggaetoneros Baby Ranks, Yomo, and Fuego, who’s one of the hottest proponents of the merengueton movement (yes, apparently that’s a thing now). And, of course, headlining are none other than Los MVPs themselves, Angel y Khriz.
