As Jim Morrison noted, Film spectators are quiet vampires. But this Thursday at O Cinema, expect more than just stone-faced voyeurs lurking in the theaters shadows. At Cinema Sounds # 8, presented by Roofless Rex and Borscht Film Festival, live bands will suck the boring out of the room when they soundtrack cult-classic films with their custom scores. For the eighth installment, the bill includes the 80s-style party thrashers of Acidosis, soundscape outfit Viking Funeral, powerviolence band Gorilla Pussy, and the no-wave pop sounds of Meat. Although organizers are tight-lipped about the nights lineup of celluloid, consider the rare gems from past programs. At the last Cinema Sounds, four bands laid down experimental tracks over Alejandro Jodorowskys Holy Mountain, Chan-wook Parks Oldboy, Pot o Gold with Jimmy Stewart, and Francis Ford Coppolas Rumble Fish.
