Florida International University has helped produce so many art stars that it makes sense to bring the talented alumni back. In his Aesthetics & Values seminar, professor John Bailly shows non-art majors how to curate their own exhibitions. This year, the young scholars worked with big names in the biz such as Daniel Arsham, Jose Bedia, Ivan Toth Depeña, Jacin Giordano, Fabian Peña, Karen Rifas, Cristina Lei Rodriguez, John Sanchez, Jen Stark, and Antonia Wright. When Wright met with the students, she was inspired to create I Scream, Therefore I Exist especially for the budding curators. Meanwhile, Peña took pigment made from flies (yes, flies!) and wrote on the Frost Art Museum’s windows and first floor. Visit the bugs and hear the screams at “Aesthetics & Values” at the Frost through April 17.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.; Sundays, noon. Starts: March 8. Continues through April 17, 2011
