Those Summer Nights

High-waisted Lycra disco pants and coral-red lipstick. In case you hadn’t noticed, greaser/bad-girl chic is back. So Wednesday night, stop by American Apparel for shiny pants, pick up a pack of Camels, hop on the back of your boyfriend’s motorcycle, and zoom over to the SoundScape park next to New World Center. There you can neck all night while breaking curfew and watching Greaseon a huge outdoor projection screen. The original high school musical, which featured leather-jacket gangs, beauty school dropouts, and car races instead of a chorus of goody-goodies, is the third installment in the SoundScape Cinema Series. These free, family-friendly flicks screen on the grassy commons of the campus’s ExoStage. Catch John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John delivering 7,000 square feet of dramatic teen anxiety and cheesy-fabulous sing-alongs at 8 p.m. Sure, it’s only March, but if you close your eyes long enough, you might feel some summer loving.
Wed., March 30, 8 p.m., 2011
