I think we would be better served to remember Rick Scott is out to screw the poor, not just the poor os color! And that gives us a bigger base to fight back at him with, if we just say people of color are being discriminated against it dosent go as far reaching as people of low income or no income.

I am seeking supporters of officially 'impeaching' Rick Scott. I realize that this is a complex process, however, it is very successful in getting the attention of citizens who are truly concerned about the direction this man is taking this State. Governor Crist made a few valid suggestions to assist the black people in this State who have been 'illegally' detained and other outrageous acts of deprivation as per the US Constitution, but he failed to be proactive on this suggestions. Now there is this Rick Scott, who is vehemently trying to bring back the KKK and supporting all hate groups and endorsing the 'good ole boy' ideology of 'blacks are only one-eighth of a person. It is time to show and call for the impeachment of Rick Scott. Every teacher, parent, student and sound minded person in this State of Florida owe it to themselves to vehemently pursue this avenue to keep this State and country going forward instead of backwards. We must be concerned with unity and peace, not separation and war. Rick Scott ideologies promote terrorism! Get rid of RICK SCOTT!

This writer is an idiot. It is always about the "feel sorry for me" attitude he wants to project. I am white. I grew up during the 1960's riots in East St. Louis. I made it a success of myself and I didn't blame anyone for my poverty stricken home. This balck guy wants to rab on to the bandwagon of blaming whitey for all the ills and poverty in the inner city. Sure....poverty and lack of education exist only partial to funding. But it is the community that makes a better place to live. Not reliance on the goverment for handouts. People like this writer always will have a manipulation of why his community is a failure. But after growing up in the roughest neighborhood in East St. Louis, I blame the fathers and mothers who allow the children to fail for not having guidance or morals in the upbringing. Rick Scott may be clueless about the political machine as well as the Black culture. Caucasions of which I am one all know that when ever you disagree with a Black you are a racist. I for one long ago stopped seeing color in business and employment. I have learned to diffferientiate between people who work and those who do not.
The people who work and succeed do not have color. I have learned also that many Black people enter the work place with the approach of being black and use it as an excuse to work less and then play the race card.
Rick Scott understands business and the fact that the peole he was addressing were not from the the economicaly deprived but represent them. He related to the people the Black Democrats represent rather the the legislators.
Luther Campbell however comes to work Black rather then a man with no color and plays the race card. He once again makes it clear that he is a racist and disgard of American culture and ethic.
I happen to agree with Campbell that people on Welfare should not be drug tested. Lets work together to insure the chance of an overdose along with the murders that result from Blacks in the businesss of distribution. Shoot up Luther!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .

Whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, white or black, you should be able to see the truth here for what it really is...Rick Scott is obviously uncomfortable around blacks and hasn't a clue about how to reach out to them. He is so uncomfortable that he tried to establish connections with these black lawmakers based on stereotypical assumptions-ones they have probably been fighting against their whole lives.
Be that as it may, I find it amusing that Luther Campbell feels he can pronounce judgment on anyone for anything after his own lewd history and legal issues. He becomes a voice of reason for all of us to heed? How did that happen?

While most of us try and get past looking at humans as a black or white or whatever color, you continue to promote segregating people. To wit, this column has been the human interest story for several days now when it seems that the story lines change most daily. As for Scott, at least he's put himself on the line for the people's vote....and got it. Good, bad or indifferent, he's the go to guy for the next few years. If you have a beef....run for office....put up or shut up.

I agree with you 100 percent! I am very middle-ground when it comes to politics. I do my research and I decide what is most important to me and my community/state/country and I vote accordingly. I work in law enforcement and his pension reform idea is insane. He is so quickly to prepared to put people out of work it is unreal. Plans to let go hundreds of corrections officers are already in place (a profession that is already highly understaffed), next come cuts to police, fire fighters and school personnel. Not for nothing the crime rates and education level are not so great that we can afford less patrol and we especially cannot afford less teachers. I have voted for both republicans and democrats in the past, but this is one guy who has no business being in politics.

Rick Scott is a criminal (and will always be a criminal). He bought himself out of jail just like OJ Simpson.....Once a criminal always a criminal.
I cannot understand for the life of me how people listens to Ads and political rhetoric without using some common sense. As for as I know, I always teach my kids to not listen to criminals and most of the parents I know do the same thing....but as adults they seem to be contrary to it......they voted this crook into office b/c of the unlimited funds he swindled from tax payers (don't forget we had to pay to prosecute him) and the people were fooled by his rhetoric.
When will the public learn? Rick Scott well eventually irreversibly damage the future of florida. Part of it is making himself rich at the sacrifice of all the people who live here including the dummies that voted for him. He uses deceptive tactics to fool the public to get what he wants and afterwards laughs his way all the way to the bank.
Next time folks, before voting don't listen to all the mud slinging lies, empty lies/promises, and rhetoric. Do some research on the candidates and look at what and how their policies will affect the future. I highly recommend at this point in time to vote only for democrats. Get all those republicans out of office b/c they are backed by corporate sponsors that give them billions upon billions of dollars to help support their campaigns with false rhetoric to win. Next time.....vote wisely.
