The dude's been dead for two decades. But even so, jazz demigod, congenital rebel, and cocaine enthusiast Miles Davis looks like he's gonna have an incredibly packed 2011.

Earlier this month, the trumpet-wielding master reissued an expanded Bitches Brew Live, a soul-scorching set of electrified jazz-rock pulled from his infamously intense performances at 1969's Newport Jazz Festival and 1970's Isle of Wight. And this Friday, Davis will rise again from the grave for another gig: Celebrating Miles, an early 85th birthday bash at Arsht Center's Knight Concert Hall.
Confirmed attendees include the ghosts of John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and Bill Evans — not to mention a few living players such as Miles's old friends and bandmates Wallace Roney, Ron Carter, and Marcus Miller. Plus, there will be a 27-year-old New Orleans horn wizard, Christian Scott, who plays a trumpet called Katrina. All together, they'll pay tribute to jazz's Prince of Darkness with cuts off acoustic albums Milestones, Round About Midnight, and Kind of Blue as well as '80s electric experiment Tutu.
Go wail with Miles.
