Every year, gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, and queer people converge in Miami Beach to celebrate their fabulousness at Winter Party Festival. This year, expect the requisite massive parties and infamous DJs but also events geared toward our more refined sensibilities such as cultural happenings, cocktail receptions, and, well, shopping. But it wouldn’t be a gay-old-time without plenty of poolside parties. Show off your oil-slicked abs at the pool at Doubletree Surfcomber during Friday’s Hell & Heaven party and Saturday’s Under One Sun Pool Party. Females can let their hair down at the women’s signature event, Industry, where DJ Lisa Pittman — a resident at Tao Nightclub in Vegas, the number-one-rated nightclub in the world — will man the wheels of steel on Saturday night at Club O1 (1 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach). And don’t miss Winter Party Beach Party at 12th Street and Ocean Drive at Lummus Park, where more than 5,000 glistening bodies will dance to DJs Alyson Calagna and Charlmix’s beats on Sunday. The same night, check out Boiling Point: Carnival, a Brazilian-style party at Cameo (1445 Washington Ave., Miami Beach). Mix it up by hitting Cyrano Film Retrospective at Miami Beach Cinematheque (1130 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) on Friday and LGBTheology on Tap at Van Dyke Café (846 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach) on Saturday when one of the country’s leading theologians will discuss the possibility that Jesus was gay. Multi-event passes cost $75 to $370, and single event admission prices range from free to $325.
