Ah, electroclash, the dance genre known for analog rhythms and monotone vocals. Part krautrock, part electro, it was doomed to fail from the start. Why? Well, once you've heard one track, you've pretty much heard them all.

That's not to say there weren't some genuine electroclash superstars back in the 2000s. At one point or another, Peaches, Felix Da Housecat, and Ladytron dabbled in the scene. Hell, even Kelly Osbourne tried to jump on the bandwagon.
But if anyone did electroclash best, it was French DJ-producer Miss Kittin. In the beginning, she teamed with the Hacker, creating instant dance floor anthems such as "Frank Sinatra" and "1982." Later, as a solo artist, she gave back to the nightclubs with "Requiem For a Hit." And then, after two albums, Miss Kittin ditched the bitch-with-an-attitude vocals and returned to work with the Hacker for 2009's Two.
Catch the electro puss live this Friday when she DJs at the Vagabond.
