A year and a half ago, nobody really knew his name. Hailing from the English Midlands, he was just another university student who sidelined as a laptop producer. But then things changed: He MySpace-stalked a few famous pop music names, scored some a capella tracks, and banged out a bunch of unauthorized remixes. Within weeks, the blogosphere went wacko for Jakwob's work — namely his sunny, future-drunk deconstruction of Ellie Goulding's synthy single "Starry Eyed."

And soon, he started earning shout-outs from some of England's preeminent culture connoisseurs, including BBC's Annie Mac, NME, and Dazed & Confused. Seizing the opportunity, the kid quickly dropped another batch of remixes — Kid Sister, Robyn, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and more — as well as a debut single, "Here With Me."

Now, he's about to finish recording his first full slab. So catch Jakwob this Saturday before he rides another web wave to total internet fame.
