Desserts, overseen by DaSilva and pastry chef Jenny Rissone, weren't up to snuff in relation to the rest of the cuisine. A round, single-serving of pecan tart came with over-baked crust, although it also featured a quenelle of luscious vanilla ice cream. A goat cheese cheesecake came as four stiff little squares with crumbs on the side — the type of silly compilation that gives deconstruction a bad name. The cubes were pooled in port wine sauce and capped with a half-strawberry each, not nearly as fetching as promised figs.

It was the same old story regarding service: Waiters were friendly and fairly competent, but not trained in the finer aspects of their job. My knife dropped to the side of the table while I ordered, and it was still there when we left; that wouldn't happen with an attentive staff. When the manager roamed the room, the workers seemed to step it up; when he was gone, they slacked. As per usual, on one occasion it took forever to get the check even though the room wasn't crowded. Such service, and the insipid setting, serve to undercut the carefully crafted cuisine of DaSilva and her kitchen crew. Food as artful as this deserves a nicer frame.

Will be spending two weeks next month in Miami and will definitely try this restaurant. I checked out their site and the restaurant interior is as delectable as the food. I love how they used different types of dining tables and chairs. Excited to experience the ambiance and the food.

I have had nothing but exceptional service at 1500 Degrees. I always recommend the restaurant to my brides & grooms. Each time they have nothing but good things to say. As for the staff, they have always gone above and beyond. I plan dozens of event throughout the year and always have the chance to eat at the finest restaurants around town. 1500 Degrees is on the top of my list and I highly recommend that you try it.

I agree with Ryan C. as well. I had the most amazing meal there about 3 weeks ago. I would not suggest skipping the raw bar and first plates as they both were delicious and fresh. Sure you can go somewhere else and get them elsewhere but I prefer to go for quality and not be cheap and have something mediocre and bland elsewhere. Salads were delicious as well as sides, and entrees were outstanding! Everything was seasoned nicely, cooked nicely and everything was fresh!

Lee Klein, if you want to eat on a budget go to olive garden because your truly do not know how to appreciate a restaurant like this!

thanks Lee for helping all of us Floridians attempt to use the usually overpriced restaurants that are at attached to these tourists attractions. These places are usually avoided by locals so your common sense approach was appreciated.

I myself have dined at 1500 many times. I think this article doesn't give this restaurant justice. I have had the most amazing meals of my life there. When I go out I'm not looking to order the cheapest thing on the menu. I usually ask the staff what they think and go with their expert opinion. In my multiple experiences I had some of the best service Miami has to offer. I was given an articulate and well crafted tour of the menu and received top notch service. We ordered the colossal stone crab claws for $24 and shrimp cocktail for $4 a piece. I have never seen a more well priced raw bar in Miami. Then we had the most amazing salad course. A tomato salad with burrata mozzarella cheese that melts in your mouth. For entrees we had the Florida waygu ribeye for around $40 and a roasted lobster dish with a fruit salsa that was to die for. The sides where an onion gratin with a unique presentation and asparagus that were shaved and grilled to perfection. The first experience was what brought me back again and again. I have never been more well taken care anywhere. Even the chef came to the table and talked with us for a good 10 minutes. 1500 is the best deal in town. I have and will tell everyone about the truly magical experiences they provide.
