November is for Body Slams

Unbelievably dramatic story lines and offscreen scandals keep WWE’s chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon, high on the list of douchiest people on the planet. Former wrestling superstars have accused him of sexual harassment, strong-arming business deals, and not giving a shit about employees. But he has also built a multibillion-dollar media empire. The WWE, despite its questionable business practices, has a very loyal following. For some fans, November is to wrestling what Thanksgiving is to football. And for 23 years, WWE’s Survivor Series has been held during the 11th month in cities across North America and broadcast live to millions via pay-per-view. The Magic City will host WWE’s Survivor Seriesthis Sunday at the American Airlines Arena. During the Diva Championship Match, either defending “BFF” — Michelle McCool or Layla — will contend with the one woman who has proven herself capable of unseating WWE’s Mean Girls. Nexus leader Wade Barrett will combat WWE champion Randy Orton, and world heavyweight champion Kane will take on Edge for the world title.
