British DJ-producer Carl Cox hardly needs an introduction anywhere that people get down to electronic beats, lasers, and glowsticks. A child of the late-'80s acid-house boom and "Second Summer of Love," Cox cut his teeth spinning for the rave generation at seminal UK hot spots such as the Haçienda, Fantazia, and Amnesia House. In the '90s, he expanded his sonic reach as a regular on Kiss FM and Radio One's Essential Mix, introducing his trademark big-room techno and hard-house stylings to an international audience that would eventually vote him the first winner of DJ Magazine's prestigious Top 100 DJs poll in 1997.
