Tweens Get an Elixir

If you're a celebrity and have more than 100,000 Twitter followers, you're probably hawking some kind of product. These days, it's all about books. Forget Jenny McCarthy — there's another blond celebutante in town this week shilling her new tome: Hilary Duff. She might have starred with the rest of the rug rats on the Disney Channel, but she has slowly turned into a hot little gal about town. On a detour from her movies and music, Duff recently published her first novel, Elixir, 336 pages about a young, privileged photojournalist; her fabulous life; and the ghost dude who appears in her photos. Considering it's printed by a children's books publisher, we're gonna guess it's for tweens. But if you want to check out Duff (and her $1 million wedding ring), head to Books & Books Bal Harbour at 7:30 p.m. this Friday to get your very own signed copy of Elixir.
