Honestly, there is greater need in our society than trying to create a party that would bring diversity. Diversity is already at the core of every political agenda. For years, we have bicker with one another about who would be politically and morally capable to leading a country like the one we live. Yet, when it all comes down to it, we use the same tatics and stragizes to gain the support of thousands of people. Without resentment or compromise we speak of social justice but is there such a thing as social justice. It's nice to see for once a different colored man besides white but that doesn't mean he's any better than the ones before. It just means he's black. If we don't examine more than just skin color we'll be stuck feeling ineffective and incapable to succeeding as a race behind someone's shadow. We succeed yes in music but no one man can ever lead a nation without sound and moral advice from his counterparts. Honestly, as a race, we have intellect, witts, strength and talent to continually settle for the race story. Its time we see beyond just our color and see potential. At the end of the day, when we peel back the skin of a man, he's the same underneath. I can't speak for anyone but as a black woman, my potential is not based on the color or the position of power a man has. My potential is based on my ability to set the standard for myself. To fight all the moral injustice or predjuice that comes with wanting better for one's self. Hope I made sense in what I've said.

This sounds great! we might get people in power who actually identify with the people! i just hope they are able to reach across party lines to the punk rockers :D it's all the same cause really.
This is also awesome in the sense that mainstream media will not be the only means of information distribution. A senator can write an album about his ideas for candidacy and sell it for campaign funds and also to get his theories out. Also since this is the Miami news I suggest you all check out Farid Khavari running for governor out of Miami.

What a total moron. There's probably nobody MORE racist than these idiots. Obviously too many drugs in the 80s while spewing out filthy song (???) lyrics.

hey dave, you have to understand something; black people are obsessed with skin color. calling will smith a "vanilla rapper" is the equivalent of calling him an "uncle tom". the fact is most black people are taught from a very young age its whitey's fault, everything. most think that everyone of our ancestors owned a plantation with a bunch of slaves. this is the norm, while black people from haiti, jamaica, africa, and many other parts of the world come here get educated and get good jobs. something that the race obsessed american black could be doing. then you have people that poison their communities like the race pimps: sharpton, and jackson. these assholes are millionaires by polluting their communities. oh yeah, their kids go to whitey private schools, whitey colleges, and they all live in whitey neighborhoods. i honestly see no real future for most of them. some of them do to to school, get out of the box and realize 99% of whites, latins, or any other racial or ethnic group is not planning their demise and are out there trying to carve a space out for themselves and their families. but this factual and truthful message will never be brought to their community because it simply does not pay.

First off i want to say that I am a fan of 2 live crew and the work you put into it. What I'm not a fan of, is what you have to say as a blanket statement regarding the tea party.
The Tea Party is all about less government in our lives. Less government programs & waste = less in taxes. Only someone intrested in just getting free stuff from the government would be against it.
To try and discredit the tea party and what it represents by calling them all racists, at best, is a comment made by someone who knows nothing about them.
There will always be prejudice people will need to face and deal with. Some more than others. Just please give more thought into calling a whole group of people who want to keep the money they earn racist, and then in the next paragraph call Will Smith a vanilla rapper. I could be wrong but I feel that sometimes those who make race the issue all the time are more racist themselves.

hey sadat, you sound like one of those convicts that experienced "cellvation". and yeah, that hip hop convention trashes this city. so take your drivel and try to sell it else where. also, christians are the worse people that ever walked the face of the earth. the most hipocrite, lying, back stabbing, undermining, sacks of **** i have ever seen in my life.
-
Sadat 10/02/2010 8:59:00 AM
Everybody's comment's on here is bull. President Obama is better then Bush and dick in every way. God Bless him and remember that no one is perfect. Hip Hop party is the best thing i heard. We keep it real in our lyrics, we say what we want and don't give a s... about you ignorant prick's think anymore. there is no hope in your comment's and complete hatred. Kids are raised by there parents. if they do a good job in teaching there kids then the out come is good.doesn't matter if it's hip hop or not. yes the hip hop that turns Miami Beach into whatever it is that you people think it's so bad. Blame it on the blacks right, every other culture is just as bad and they won't be pointed out. There is a God and the devil. You are blinded by the devil. That's why it's important to believe in God and follow him and he will remove the blind curtains from your eye's. It's so simple but everybody makes it so complicated. So i forgive everybody and never put the blame on you but i do blame the devil. the story has been written since the beginning of time and the only way you can change the outcome is at your own free will. Think people! use that beautiful brain God has blessed you with and make a change and please stop writing negative things.

The opening (and misleading) sentence is everything one needs to read, to understand the biased, misinformed, and downright dishonest motivation to write such sub-par piece of journalism. The author fails to address the respectable African-American membership to the Tea-Party movement, the political party affiliations (about 49% are Republicans, the other 51% is comprised of Independents and Democrats), and the 'wake up' call it symbolizes, to BOTH parties. To Republicans, the Tea-Party signifies that voters have had enough of the old establishment in the GOP, and they want new, fresh, fiscally responsible conservatives. To Democrats, it signifies that the polarizing policies Obama has been implementing do not work, nor are they acceptable for Americans. The whole hip-pop argument is ludicrous to say the least. The hip-pop culture has been one of the most destructive impacts on the black community, preaching materialism, violence, and rebellion, rather than self-improvement, pride, and ambition. The clownish looks, the pathetic gestures and dances, all demean and ridicule the demographic segments that associate themselves with such musical and pop-cultural trash. In conclusion, this entire article, and its author, are a disgrace to real, objective, and most importantly HONEST journalism.

How silly. Hip hop? Are we talking about that same hip hop that converts Miami Beach from one of the most coveted international destinations into a drive-by shooting weekend in Detroit? The same hip hop that is driving away investors and locals alike? The one that turns the streets of Miami beach into an inner city NIGHTMARE? While I TOTALLY support Obama's removal of pre-existing condition's in the healthcare 'holocaust' industry, I also support and defend almost all of the tea party movements legitimate issues. America is speaking out, you ought to listen rather than trivialize our fellow countymen's voices. King George III ignored us back then and became as mad as a 'gangsta' rapper out of crack. Sadly, you are apparently heading in that same direction. Pray that their are socialist lobotomy providers in Obama's healthcare bag of goodies!

Luke, are you getting desperate now that you have nothing to write about??? You know that come November, your BOY will have no control for anything. To fart, he will have to ask for permission. Then we will have to spend the next 2 years UNDOING all the horrible socialistic choices that he has made during his first 2 years of presidency...starting with undoing the ridiculous and stupid HEALTHCARE REFORM! I wonder how much those pens will be worth that he auctioned off once all this is undone and brought back to normal.

Tea Party racist? What you need to do is shut the fuck up and pay the 2 LIVE CREW their money owed! Just like you had to pay George Lucas and drop the Skywalker! I was a fan back in the day, but your political views are full of shit and your recycled strip joint karaoke hype man rap crap is garbage just like all the hip hop that is out today-pure garbage! If anything anyone with common sense and a bit of intelligence and class would jump to the Tea Party then a glorified rap crap movement that won't go further than the strip joint you frequent. The 2 LIve Crew is Brother Marquis-Fresh Kid Ice-Mister Mixx!

Idiotic N I G piece of sub-primate garbage. 33% of blacks support the Tea Party. You see, unlike your black racist ass, they work for a living.
-
Billy Ray 09/30/2010 9:38:00 PM
I am surprised at the INABILITY of the left to do basic MATH.
Fact- 97% of Blacks voted for Obama
Fact- Blacks represent a 12.9% slice of the population
Assume that Obama supporters white or black wouldn't be tea party members. That leaves 3% of 12.9% of the population at a given tea rally. That in simple terms is 1/3 of a percent, or 1 in 300 members would be black. I am POSITIVE the tea party meets that quota.
-
Roland 09/30/2010 7:24:00 PM
I take exception to the author's comments that Tea Party "comments belong at a Klan rally." Tea Party members are no more, and no less racist, than any political group. The author is just another of the elite who think they have insight into the Tea party, like the media, when in reality, they "just don't get it." I'm a Tea Party member, and all I want is for our government to follow the Constitution, spend less, tax less, and to get off our backs and let us run our own lives. Individual rights and capabilities should be sought rather than put down. I don't need the government telling me what is best for me and my family. The government has caused the current financial mess the country is in, not individuals, or businesses, be they large or small.
-
This Orderly Konduct 09/29/2010 9:55:00 PM
Tea Parties are for little ho's, also it takes 5 Tea Baggers 2 equal 32 teeth. One thing about them, they can drive there home to most rallies.

Mr. Bill 09/29/2010 6:08:00 PM
Uncle Luke:
I've been following your commentary for some time now, and if nothing else, I can say you are genuine, and I often agree w/ your opinions and positions. This is startling since I am a 50-something, white bread male w/ a midwestern mindset. I ascribe it to the fact I am far to educated for my own good; too much time spent in academia can do that to a person.
I'd like to help you in your latest endeavor--assuming, of course, you intend to follow through on this. I have an acute understanding of media (I completed a Master;s program in journalism) and the law (I've handled 6 cases in the last 5 years and have won them all--and I'm not a lawyer). If you really want to show that the Hip Hop Party is global, perhaps over-educated white bread is what you need.
I'll be waiting for your email. And your next commentary.

Ward 09/29/2010 5:40:00 PM
I never understood why people are hard on Will Smith. He was from the burbs of Philly and never lived the "ghetto" life so why would he ever protray that lifestyle? Look at Plies, we talk negative about him because he talks "goon" talk but will not throw rice at a Chinese wedding. Luke you have to be more responsible in your writing bruh. -Salaam

Fat Albert 09/29/2010 7:28:00 AM
As a young black man, I can say that the gangsters who called themselves rappers are a shame for all educated black man. Why can't they show something that they youth could learn on. what they're singing now are very ridiculous. The dirty words, saggy pants are making me sick of them. They need to change so the society can accept their music

sharpton's hairdresser 09/29/2010 5:45:00 AM
its good you brought up nwa. they were fake ass gangsters like you. not one of them ever did time. ice cube wrote most of his crud while going to arizona u. by they way you all, uncle luke had his children at dade christian school,i think you could consider dade christian as tea party headquarters in miami. and i heard you lived in the country club of miami for a while too. btw, what do you know about these tea party people other than what you've heard on the news. did you know the liberals, and dems send people wearing swastikas, and other hate propaganda to give them a black eye? listen, im not a tea bagger, but im also intelligent to know the ins and outs of the subject i want to discuss much less write about. you also may wanna bring up the thousands of black tea baggers that belong to that racist party. that's something that the mainstream media doesnt want to talk about. ill say one thing, you are dumb but very entertaining
-
Gus 09/29/2010 3:42:00 AM
"President Obama wouldn't be commander in chief without Jay-Z." Wow, this is by far the most asinine claim on this article. or how about "This would be one of the most powerful political parties ever assembled" really??? and what is the ideology or vision of this powerful party, to sell records and pop champagne bottles, and to express your negative feelings about cops...come one man, you're a joke!
-
dmo305 09/29/2010 3:18:00 AM
Honestly I do not know whose UNCLE are you. Please do not add me to your will. By the way I have no idea how your rather insulting, uninteligent and absurd comments are ever published. On the other hand I can not blame you for that, the culprits are the "newspapers" that print such filth.
If your brand of "HIP_HOP" is the standard for your future "revolution" I believe the human race would rather be annihilated.

After your article where you pretty much brushed all Muslims as terrorists or terrorist sympathizers...Luke, you belong with these idiotic tea baggers.
BTW @Billy Ray where did you pull that percentage? Or are you just full of shit & made that up(which most likely you did)
-
Kyle 09/29/2010 1:30:00 AM
Hip Hop is ignorant in its degenerate promotion of bad values as is the moron who wrote this article. And yes, the Tea Party will dominate your dumb asses.

Caeser Palache 09/29/2010 1:30:00 AM
You are definitely an idealist to think that by bringing employment into the ghetto, that people would actually participate in helping their community. Why would "most" of the people who reside there want to work - when they have made a career through federal-subsidies for doing nothing. Yeah, that's what we need, thugs who are half-baked with incoherent speech to lead this nation - awesome idea. Actually, maybe it would work, it will just cement this countries belief that our education system is the pits. Your articles have become comical but, if you believe your own crud, good for you!
-
Billy Ray 09/29/2010 1:26:00 AM
I think it is just hilarious that anyone in support of this failed president would point out alleged racism in the tea party. Let me remind you that 95% of Blacks voted for Obama for the no other reason than his skin color.
Hope and change, you are not smart enough to realize you were sold a fictitious bill of goods for a vote. Wrong on stimulus, wrong on job creation, wrong on bailouts, lied about taxes, failed health care reform, Sponge bob could do a better job than this administration.

Luke, why did you pull my comment for the 3rd time? You want us to come together under hip hop. Well let's start with your 2001 album "Luther Campbell - Something Nasty (2001)" Your readers should check the tracks and the lyrics, they really are nasty. Let me know if the president is onboard with this.

Uncle Luke do you really think america is looking for the Hip Hop movement? I mean really! think of an even more ignorant version of Obama, wearing his hat backwards, pants down around his a@#, with tats all over him and unable to communicate in standard english everyone can understand. Doesn't sound like it's going very far to me!
