We thought Kimora Lee Simmons was so cool when she showed off her floor-to-ceiling closet on national TV, and showed us all just how hard it is to be the fashion designer behind Baby Phat on Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane. We wanted to marry a rap mogul, divorce 'em, and make our way up the fashion food chain, too. For fashion designer Rachel Roy, those dreams were made very real when she married then divorced rap mogul Damon Dash, co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records. He also launched Rocawear Clothing, so when it comes to happy fairytale endings, Kimora and Rachel are almost like long-lost sisters. To prove her own mogul status, Roy has launched a fashion-forward younger sister to her namesake called Rachel Rachel Roy, exclusive to Macy's. In the collection, you'll find hip, downtown styles blended with pattern mixing, and interesting little details like rivets, sequins, and hard edges juxtaposed by flowy fabrics.

If you're curious as to Roy's design inspiration and what it takes to operate a major collection that runs the gamut with shoes, handbags, jewelry, sportswear, and separates, Roy will be on the second floor of Macy's in Dadeland this Saturday at 2 p.m. for a meet-and-greet with her fashion fans. Not only will you get to enjoy some tunes and hors d'oeuvres, but you'll see informal modeling and receive a special gift with any Rachel Rachel Roy purchase. This will be her only stop in the Southeast, so if you want to ask her how you can be just like her on a budget, now's your chance. With most of her stuff at a reasonable $29-$299 price point, we bet you'll find something you'll want to own.
