I had the personal pleasure of working with this scum-bag. Yes, all of this is true, and more disturbing events go undocumented. Consider the families that are scared to say anything negative because of their illegal status?

Please Please Translate this to spanish and allow the latin community which he claims he is servicing to apportunity to see how he is disservising them. They are the first ones who need to be informed and warned. And I strongly agree that he should be deported. There is absolutly no room at all for people like that in the funeral industry. He should have been in jail long ago. The Florida Statues are very clear on the laws regarding handling of humam remains. It's time that the law be inforced.

If this guy has a license to be a funeral director then something is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!He is a crook!!! I know, he promised us the moon and delivered nothing, we fought with him also and had to call the police just to be able to see our mother. He offered us services, gave us prices and told us directly and with convection that he was a licensed professional both here in Florida and in his home country. He assured us he could deliver our mother to Cuba in a short period of time and that she would arrive in perfect shape. Well he was wrong, after 2 months and many thousands of dollars he delivered nothing, our mom never arrived!! We arranged to use another funeral home for a burial in Graceland South cemeteries. Be afraid be very afraid! Please tell me who this Juan Rodriguez person is, because he has never had a service there, and if he works there then he should at least say that he does.

Stop, look and listen, this man is trash, if you think he cares for anyone else other than himself, then think again, why would any sane person mention in a newspaper article the fact that he owns a Bentley? What does this have to do with funeral services? My family used this funeral home once when he and his ex-wife owned it. Would anyone care to guess that filth that he tried to pass-off onto our family? My dad died in the middle of the night, we had a preneed arrangement with him. We called the number on the paperwork/contract. The number was not working, we looked it up on line and found one of his related companies and called them. We left a message, he called back only after the police officer called and left 2 messages. He told us to call Bernardo Garcia Funeral Homes because he didn't have any people on the road to remove our father at this time of night. We explained that our contract was with him, he said and I quote because we recorded the call; "Don't worry, we can just pick him up tomorrow from them, and they have to release him to us with no charge, it is called holding a body for money and it is against the law. Here is the number, call them and then come in tomorrow' His words, if anyone would care to hear them just email me and I can send you an audio file. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He is using us and does not care about us!!!!!!

This is just the begining of the story. How about his ex-wife, Zabida Hasin, she should be the next one to appear in the second part of this horrific story. My best friend was a victim of these two monsters, Rafaiy Alkhalifa aka Hilbert Mohabir and his ex wife. Can someone tell me why does the State of Florida allow Alkhalifa to registered several florida corporations using various names, if you do not belive me just check the Florida Corporations web site and you will see how many corporations he has under different names. How about HOMELAND SECURITY??? WHERE ARE THOU? Perhaps chasing poor mexicans asking for jobs along SW 8 street corners in Miami. No time for the big fish of course.

I believe every dispicable detail about Alkhalifa/Mohabir's dealings. He is not nor has he ever been a "licensed funeral director". He owns the place, and dictates everything going on there, but he is, by his own admissions in this article, practicing funeral directing without a license. The license he had, that was taken away, was a license to sell pre-paid funerals because he was charged with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from those poor unsuspecting people. His "funeral home" is licensed, which I can't understand why since the state has a file a mile thick on this guy. He ought to be in jail. He tried to get a license to operate another place using someone else as a pawn, but the state got wind of it and denied the license. Why won't the state get this guy out of business? He does nothing but mistreat people and separate them from thier hard earned money, breaks the law, and gives the honest, law-abiding funeral professionals a bad name.

Where is the department of financial, funeral & consumers services in all this? It is unable to act because the head of that department is running for governor. All hail the name of Alex Sink.

Juan A. Rodriguez you are a naive man... I feel sorry for you. These things do not 'just happen'. Pull some records and show me where this 'just happens' or how often it happens in other funeral homes.

Typical Miami DOUCHE-BAG! I can't believe the City of Miami and State of Florida allow this guy to do business here. What ever happened to accountability?

AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED, RAFAIY ALKHALIFA a.k.a HILBERT MOHABIR IS A U.S RESIDENT, AND HE IS ALSO A CONVICTED CRIMINAL ON PROBATION AT THE PRESENT TIME. WHY THEN, HAS THE U.S.IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (ICE) UNDER HOMELAND SECURITY, NOT PLACE A "DETAINER ON THIS MONSTER????" HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEPORTED BACK TO WHATEVER PLACE HE IS FROM. HE IS CERTAINLY NOT
WANTED HERE. I WONDER SOMETHING IF IT HAS TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT HIS VICTIMS ARE ALL MINORITIES?
WHERE ARE MAYOR REGALADO AND MAYOR ALVAREZ WHEN YOU NEED THEM?
WHERE ARE THE FBI, ICE, MIAMI POLICE DEPT. WHEN YOU NEED THEM?
WHRE IS THE GOVERNOR OF FLORIDA WHEN YOU NEED HIM?
WHERE IS THE I.R.S AND THE FLORIDA DEPT. OF FUNERAL SERVICES WHEN YOU NEED THEM?
SHAME SHAME SHAME ON EVERY SO CALL GOVERNMENT AGENCY FOR ALLOWING THIS TO CONTINUE. SHAME ON ALL OF US.

MY CONCERN LIKE OTHERS , WHY IS RAFAI OR ALKALIFA STILL RUNNING A FUNERAL BUSINESS, WHEN IN REALITY HE SHOULD BE PAYING FOR ALL THE DAMAGES THAT HE HAS CAUSED TO LOTS OF FAMILIES.NO MATTER WHAT HE SAYS, I THINK EVERYONE, BUT SPECIALY THE HISPANICS SHOULD REALIZE THAT THIS MAN USES A CUBAN FLAG TO SHOW THAT HE CARES, BUT IN REALITY HE USES THE FLAG TO JUST GET BUSINESS.UNFORTUNALLY MY MOM ALSO PASSED AWAY 2 YEARS AGO, BEFORE SHE PASSED AWAY SHE ASK ME TO DO JUSTICE ON HER BEHALF FOR WHAT THIS "SO-CALLED-MAN" DID TO MY FATHER AND TO SO MANY OTHERS. I THINK THERE ARE LOTS OF FUNERAL HOMES LIKE VIOR , MASPON, ETC. WITH REASONABLE RATES, IF NOT THE SAME, AND WITH FEELINGS TO HELP US WITH THE GRIEVING. LAW SHOULD PUNISH HIM, WITH NO MERCY. ONLY THE FAMILIES THAT HAS GONE THROUGH THIS HORROR SHOULD ACTUALLY GIVE OPINIONS, JUST PUT YOURSELF IN THE PLACE AND THEN TALK ABOUT IT! MISTAKES?? OR INTENTION???? AFTER WHAT I WENT THROUGH AND ACTUALLY SAW I WOULD DEFINITELY SAY WITH NO DOUBTS INTENTION!!!!!

Where is the State of Florida, Department of Funeral Services in all of these horrific situations? Why is Juan Rodriguez defending this Rafaiy Alkhalifa character whom by the way freely uses another name, Hilbert Mohabir. Where is Immigration and Customs services when you need them? Both the U.S. and State Authorities have to do something regarding Alkhalifa/Mohabir or whatever in the world his name is. He has several Florida Corportations using both names. LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES, Please take notice of this character and by the way, guess what? Alkhalifa has a criminal record in the State of Florida. Just look it up dear Juan A. Rodriguez if you do not believe me and he is also on probation. THE POLICE, FBI AND ICE MUST DO SOMETHING NOW.
WHAT THE EXCUSE IS FOR FLORIDA'S DEPARTMENT OF FUNERAL SERVICES IS, I HAVE NO IDEA, NO WONDER BILL MCcullemn lost the Florida Elections for governor.

Wow!! I wonder why now. The cases shown here, are from years ago. In this crisis, when everybody struggles to pay even his/her last family expenses, and then goes to where they can have the best our of their money, and find it there in Funeraria La Nacional, all this show up.
Who paid for the article? The competition trying to take him out of business, a dissatisfied old employee who was not competent enough to stay, or someone who really cares? If so, why they didn’t do it before?
It is true that in this type of business mistakes can happen, and you can easily understand that some people don’t review the bodies and only look at a tag to identify the deceased. Sometimes the family member is not present at the time of transferring of remains. He is very careful with the process, and very professional in the way he does business, but in hundreds of cases, things like this happen.
I wonder what other cases have happened in all the Funeral Homes the article does not mention. For a Funeral Home, one case is something common, for a family member, a Funeral is the more painful situation they ever face in their life. Rafaiy Alkhalifa tries to make it easier and less painful by removing a burden off their shoulder by not trying to become rich off the pain of others, even at his own expense. If you have a funeral all night, he even delivers cafeteria service at “no cost” for the family members, free extra service. Associated funeral services are delivered only at cost to the clients, without profit to his business. That, I have not seen in any other Funeral Homes.
It is easy to stress the problems that this, like any other Funeral Home could have, and of course, to hide the benefits of using his services, since that would be bad for the competition. It reminds me of a wise man words many years ago: “The Sun gives us warmth and light to benefit life, the Sun has stains, the ungrateful ones look only at the stains, the grateful ones look at the light.”
Prays for a business man who delivers fairly for many, sorry for the competition.
