No Stopping Stanton

The last time the Florida Marlins faced the Washington Nationals, rookie outfielder Mike Stanton was busy using Nats pitchers for batting practice. In a three-game series, Stanton collected a total of eight hits and six RBIs. He also joined the likes of Gary Sheffield, Miguel Cabrera, Hanley Ramirez, Dan Uggla, and Juan Pierre on the list of Marlins players to record a five-hit game. But make no mistake — the 20-year-old Stanton isn’t finished ravaging the record books. The kid boasts blazing speed, has a sniper’s rifle for an arm, and can swing like Paul Bunyan. Sure, this town boasts LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Brandon Marshall. But if you want to see a star in the making, catch Stanton before the Marlins trade him away.
