How awesome would it have been if comedian Demetri Martin were our fifth-grade teacher? Maybe then we would’ve grown up to be entertaining, witty, and interesting. But instead, God gave us Mr. Wiener, a bald jerk with a lazy eye who seemed to hate children almost as much as he hated himself.

Today, though, Martin is finally helping us all overcome our inherent humorlessness. Deploying an ever-expanding arsenal of graphs, charts, tables, logic games, and the like, this 37-year-old fan of fun and knowledge is teaching the world to laugh. Be there for Mr. Martin’s joke seminar at the Fillmore Miami Beach this Friday when he will pass on the many lessons learned in his years of study on Late Night With Conan O’Brien, The Daily Show, and Important Things With Demetri Martin. It’s your last chance to get educated in the art and science of comedy so that people might like you someday.
