Our Other Big Three

This isn't the greatest sports town, what with all the beaches and clubs and year-round parties. But there's no doubt we love a winner, as evidenced by the Miami Heat's recent welcome party for Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh. But the Florida Marlins are also blessed with a trio of young talent.

Take Mike Stanton, for example, a rookie who has come out this season and made a lot of noise with both his bat and fielding prowess. There's also pitcher Josh Johnson, an ace who's quietly making history with his 1.80 ERA and streak of runless games. Then there's Hanley Ramirez, an established superstar with the potential to become the best ballplayer in the bigs. Now, the downside is that the Marlins, as a whole, suck balls. They're near the bottom of the NL East standings, and their owner is a major-league jackass. Nevertheless, our other big three are pretty special. Not Wade-James-Bosh special. But still special. The Fish will meet the Philadelphia Phillies this Wednesday at Sun Life Stadium.
