With five ties and a win, the Miami FC Blues began the season on a six-game unbeaten streak. And although the team’s first victory didn’t come until its fifth match, the Blues continued to display their tough brand of defense, allowing just four goals in the first six games. Fast kicking, low scoring, and ties? You bet! Still, the Miami FC does feature a couple of dynamic goal-scorers in former Major League Soccer MVP Christian Gomez and Brazilian wunderkind Paulo Araujo. Sure, soccer is usually not a terribly popular sport ’round these parts for some reason. (Hey, what’s not to like about 90-plus minutes that end in a 1-1 tie?) But with the FIFA World Cup officially getting underway, it’s hard not to get caught up in the frenzy of the Beautiful Game.
